Build Your Own: Diet?

Let me break it down for you, diets come in the hundreds and it is so difficult to find your match. I struggled with finding the right one for months that would work with my body and do what I wanted.

Then the lightbulb struck, I know what I want in a diet and I know what foods I like, why don't I just create my own diet? The process was the best decision of ever. Sure, it took extensive research and trials, but now I have my "perfect" diet.

Now I bring my tips on building your own diet to you! Enjoy!!

Where to start:

1. Compose a list. You need to have a list of "Gotta Have It" and "Don't Need It", be honest with yourself.

2. Compare your list to multiple food pyramids and see where each of your foods land.

3. Read the labels and research what you're not sure on. If you find an ingredient you're not sure on, research it!

4. Create a list of things you want the diet to do for you!

5. Hit the official websites and books for information on nutrition!

The Trials:

1. Find 5 diets. You want to try at least 5 diets for a week each to see what it does to you.

2. Take components from each diet and start your "Chemistry Lab" by mixing them up to see what reacts the best!

Don't forget to list what you liked from each diet and track it all!!

Compose Your Diet:

1. Take what you learned and create your diet!

2. Set yourself up for the trial. Includes buying the necessary foods and materials you'll need.

Try It:

1. Give your diet a test run for a week, if it's working how you want it to and there's no hiccups, keep going!

Now you're through the process, but you might want to take the tips below to make sure it's full proof.

TIPS!

1. Don't go in uneducated! Take the time to research everything about nutrition through books, websites, workshops, etc...

2. Ask your doctor. This is so important to see what your doctor says about it all from the types of foods you should eat to how many calories you need to ensure you're healthy.

3. Combine your diet with a good exercise schedule! Nothing beats a rockin' diet with a great workout!!

4. Add supplements to help give you the vitamins your body needs!

When it came down to it, I wanted my diet to give me more energy, keep me full, prevent extensive weight-loss, and help build healthy muscles & bones. Here I am 4 months after my first trial and I can tell the difference! Don't let the basics stop you from making everything original!
