Preparing for the Next Steps
Hello Sunshines!
I figured having a heart to heart talk with all of you is long overdo and honestly needed (mainly on my part). This time I am discussing the preparations of...university!
First things first, I have been attending community college for about 3 semesters now and after summer 2018 semester I will be transferring into university life (all my sim people out there, holla)! I can't even express how unbelievably terrifying and exciting it is for me to be moving onto a whole new school in FOUR months.
What comes with that four months though is truly the insanity of preparations, planning, and craziness of schedules.
Apply, apply, apply. Everyone knows the costly prices of attending university, especially when you live on-campus. With this being said, I am up to my ears in scholarship applications and needed phone calls to the financial aid office.
*Hint: You can call the financial aid office and express how you need help financially (especially if it's a well thought out conversation on your part). Besides, all they can do is deny you (rude...jk).*
Class choices, another reason why having out-of-state or far away schools on your list is always stressful. I haven't done this yet and honestly have no clue how it is going to happen. (Phone call time!)
Orientation. Woop woop! So much excitement with this one...except travel expenses are waaaay too pricey for me to go for a grand total of 2 days for a series of workshops/talks. Here I come one day, right before classes start orientation (lol)!
Finding a job or at least some way to make money while I'm in university is another nightmare that I am so not ready to get into right now. Let's just say my options are limited due to transportation.
The actual fun part is getting packed up, making the list of items to take with you and what to buy, and planning how you're going to decorate. I have to admit, I really love this aspect to preparing for university.
Finally, I have to actually make the DECISION on which school I'm attending this fall. Yes I know, procrastination is no one's friend, but let me assure you this is no case of procrastination. It is rather the case of an inability to decide due to lack of one college tour. This will soon be changed, but my announcement on which school won't be revealed until May 26th (sorry family and friends dying to know). However, this announcement will probably be kept secret from all of you sunshines. Nothing against you, just want to keep myself and peers safe. :)
(Here's a little sneak peek at the schools in the running for my decision just for fun.)
